There have been rumors that he left PDP and re-joined APC, a party of which he was a founding member. He has just released a statement confirming the rumors. Read his statement below

I have finally heeded the calls on me to return to the All Progressives Congress (APC), a party of which I was a founding member. I re-registered as a member of the APC on Thursday through the party’s online portal. After that, the leadership of the party in my Bako ward of Yola South Local Government Area visited me in my Yola residence to welcome me back to their fold.
My decision to return to the APC was triggered by my believe that all politics are local. Almost everyone around me, and with whom we started my political journey believed the time had come for us to make sacrifices and make concessions. That is in addition to the unbelievable love that my friends in the APC have showered on me in the past months. They demonstrated in words and action that they wanted me back home. I also did a deep and long reassessment of the circumstances that warranted my exit from the APC in the first place. I left the APC in 2014 owing to fundamental disagreements with the ways the chapter of the party in my state was run after it fell into some hands. Some colleagues and I tried hard to save the then APC administration from an orchestrated impeachment plot which was unfortunately carried out with active collaboration of some ranking APC members in the state. However, events in the last 15 months have addressed many of the issues and healed some of the wounds. More so, with the genuine and sincere invitations I received since last year to retrace my steps into the party, I decided to return after consulting family and political associates at all levels. I would like to appreciate all those members of the party who privately and publicly prodded me to return to the party. My appreciation also goes to the leadership of our party, from my ward in Bako to the national leadership, for the enthusiasm they showed in having me back. NR

Sam Allardyce is the new manager of the England National football team. He was appointed today after days of negotiations with the English FA and he's been tasked with restoring the football glory once associated with the English team as the F.A don't want a repeat of the awful showing at Euro 2016 were England exited at the hands of minnows Iceland.

"I am extremely honoured to be appointed England manager especially as it is no secret that this is the role I have always wanted," Allardyce told TheFA.com. "For me, it is absolutely the best job in English football. I will do everything I can to help England do well and give our nation the success our fans deserve.

"Above all, we have to make the people and the whole country proud. I know we have talented, committed players and it is time for us to deliver."

In taking the reins of his country, the 61-year-old is handed his first opportunity to represent England, having never won an international cap during a two-decade playing career. 'Big Sam', as he has been known throughout his managerial career, took the role after steering Sunderland clear of relegation from the English Premier League.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Makurdi, Benue state today affirmed the decision of the state election petition tribunal to uphold the February 20th 2015 election of former Senate President, David Mark for the Benue South Senatorial district. APC candidate in the election, Daniel Onjeh, had petitioned the state election tribunal over Mark's victory at the polls.

The election tribunal in its ruling on June 30th dismissed Onjeh's objection saying he failed to file in his objection within the 21-days from the election as enshrined in the constitution. A dissatisfied Onjeh headed to the Court of Appeal to ask for an overturn of the tribunal's decision.

In its ruling today, Justice Oyebisi Omoleye agreed with the lower tribunal in dismissing Onjeh's petition.

Six governors from the six geopolitical zones are planning a trip to Germany for vocational training. Chairman of the governors forum and governor of Zamfara state, Abdulaziz Yari, said this after a meeting with representative of the German government at the Presidential Villa yesterday July 21st. According to him, the vocational programme is of interest to the states.

Amazon has been quick to issue the first discount for Motorola's Moto G4. The phone's recommended pricing is $199.99 with 16GB of built-in storage, and $229.99 if you need 32GB. Now though, the mega retailer has decided to slash both of those by a cool $50, making the Moto G4 a much, much better value than it was before. So, you can purchase the 16GB model for $149.99 at the moment, and the 32GB iteration for $179.99. In any case, you're getting an unlocked device of course, one that should work on all major carriers, both GSM and CDMA based. Furthermore, this isn't the version with lock...

Just a few short hours ago we brought yet another leaked video of the iPhone 7 to your attention, and now it's time for something similar. Yet this is also somewhat of a special occasion, since it's the first time we're able to glance at the upcoming iPhone 7 Plus or iPhone 7 Pro on video. It's a short recording, for sure, but it's thankfully much higher-res than the aforementioned outing of the iPhone 7 from earlier. The video shows the bigger model's back in three different color versions - grey, silver, and rose gold. On top of all of those (literally) sits an iPhone 7 for good measure....

Barely 24 hours after President Buhari disclosed that his government is in talks with the Niger Delta militants to stem the tide of attacks on oil installations in the region, notable militant group, Niger Delta Avengers, released a statement on their website saying they are not aware of such talks. Read their statement below ...

"Our attention has been drawn to media report that the President is in touch with Niger Delta agitators including the Niger Delta Avengers but the truth is that we are not aware of any peace talk. If there is any such peace talk, it means the President is talking to their mercenaries set to disturb the genuine struggle of the agitators. President Buhari led government is not sincere to the Nigeria people and their foreign allies. If we are to engage in any peace talk we made it clear that the international community must be part of it. The President know our demands. So they should stop deceiving the international oil companies, the general public and the international community.

According US Weekly, Kendall Jenner & A$AP Rocky have a thing going on. Read their report below

“It’s a fling,” a source close to the Estee Lauder spokeswoman confirms exclusively in the latest issue of Us Weekly, adding, “It’s not serious.” The duo first sparked dating rumors last month when they spent time together in the City of Love. Jenner, who traveled to France for Menswear Fashion Week, was spotted strolling through the streets of Paris with 27-year-old A$AP, whose real name is Rakim Mayers.
The two then headed to a dinner date at L’Avenue restaurant. Later that evening, they danced the night away at Paris’ Cartel Club. On July 13, Jenner and the “Electric Body” rapper rendezvoused again at the Mr. C Beverly Hills hotel. The stars have been friends for a while: A$AP attended the launch of Jenner’s PacSun line (with her younger sister, Kylie) in NYC in February.

But a source close to the Harlem, New York, native echoes the sentiment that the romance is casual. “He thinks Kendall is hot as hell,” the insider tells Us. “He’s just having fun.

Speaking to state house correspondents at the end of the National Economic Council, NEC, yesterday July 21st, the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Udoma Udo Udoma, said that the economy is presently in a bad shape but would start to pick up as from the third quarter. He confirmed Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun's comment at the senate briefing yesterday that Nigeria is technically in recession.

“Recession is basically when you have two quarters of negative growth. We had a first quarter of negative growth and we are still waiting to get all the figures for the second quarter, which has just ended in June. The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) will be giving us all the figures but if as we suspect the second quarter is also negative, then of course technically you could say that we are in recession if those figures turned out to be so. But even if we are not, the situation in the economy right now is one that, of course, we are addressing. Some of it was expected, some of it was not. We did expect the low oil price but we did not expect the level of disruption that we got in the Niger Delta, such that oil production went down and we are not likely to achieve the 2.2 million barrels per day because it went down to 1.2 million barrels per day, a little over about 1.3 million barrels per day. So you can imagine the impact of that. Measures are being taken to address those issues. We expect that by the third quarter we will start to pick up and we expect to finish the year in positive territory. That is what we are expecting. We expect to be marginally positive by the end of this year. But by next year we will now start to pick up and we will have much more growth next year,” he said.

In a speech termed offensive to Americans, Donald Trump on Thursday implied that Hillary Clinton was responsible for ISIS' growth claiming that pre-2009 before she became Secretary of State and head of America's Foreign policy, feared terrorist group ISIS wasn't 'even on the map'. Trump also implied that Clinton helped spawn the different crises happening in the Middle East.

"In 2009 - pre-Hillary - ISIS was not even on the map," Trump said during the fourth day of the Republican National Convention on Thursday at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.

"Libya was stable, Egypt was peaceful, Iraq was seeing a really, a big big reduction of violence. Iran was being choked by sanctions, Syria was somewhat under control - after years of Hillary Clinton, what do we have?"

"ISIS has spread across the region, Libya is in ruins - and our ambassador and his staff were left helpless to die at the hands of savage killers. Egypt was turned over to the radical Muslim Brotherhood, forcing the military to re-take control. Iraq is in chaos, Iran is on the path to nuclear weapons, Syria is engulfed in a civil war, and refugee crisis now threatens the West," he said.

"After 15 years of wars in the Middle East, after trillions of dollars spent and thousands of lives lost, the situation is worse than it has ever been before. This is the legacy of Hillary Clinton - death, destruction, terrorism and weakness,"

Traders were left stunned on Thursday as the Nigerian naira traded weaker on the black market to 375 against the dollar. The Naira crossed 300 to the dollar for the first time on the inter-bank market after the Central Bank last month lifted its peg on the currency to allow it trade freely.

The inter-bank market traded a total of $7.27 million and after the market closed, a total of $7.10 million trades were done as low as 330.50 naira to the dollar.

The sharp depreciation was triggered by increased scarcity of the nation’s currency in the inter-bank market. The lack of dollar supply in the interbank market was aggravated by lack of intervention dollar sales by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) causing the naira depreciate by 12 in the market in the last ten days.

Traders who were expecting the Central Bank to intervene and ease dollar shortages were left in their wake as the Central Bank instead mopped up Naira liquidity.

According to the Central Bank's official website on Friday morning, Inflation is at 16.48 while U.S Dollar Exchange rate is at 292.4.
