Is this the budget iPhone 5c?

Images of the budget iPhone 5c’s retail dummy have reportedly leaked onto the internet.
The handset has been at the centre of media attention for the best part of 2013, after rumours first emerged that Apple was looking at launching a budget iPhone.
These latest images are reportedly from a Romania retailer, according to GeekyGadgets.
According to the report, the photos are of the dummy unit that will be used in stores to promote the phone. Electronics makers often provide retailers with dummy versions of their products to help cut down on the risk of theft, while allowing potential customers to get hands on.

The images show the white handset from the front and back, while the black handset shows off the top of the phone, where the glass meets the rumoured polycarbonate case.
Interestingly, the dummy black handset is shown to be running iOS 6. Apple is unlikely to show off the phone that is reportedly replacing the iPhone 5 with the previous version of iOS.
The quality of the casing also raises some questions. Scuff marks and minor damage don’t fit with Apple’s marketing approach.
Few details about the iPhone 5c are known for sure. Yesterday, a prominent analyst claimed that the iPhone 5c will retail for between £230 and £320.
Apple is understood to be planning a launch event on September 10th.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Apple’s manufacturing partner Foxconn has been told to ship two new models of the iPhone next month.
