Sony teases Xperia Z1

Sony has teased its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z1.
The smartphone – also known by its codename of Honami – has been at the centre of a number of leaks in recent months.
Sony shared a picture of its upcoming Android smartphone via its Xperia Twitter page.
The image shows the Xperia range’s iconic side mounted power button. It also shows the curved back of the phone in more detail than previously leaked images.

Sony’s language in the tweet is playful too, acknowledging that the company has struggled to keep a lid on the phone. It is expected that it will unveil the Xperia Z1 officially next month at IFA 2013.
Previous leaks have highlighted how Sony is planning to position the phone as the best of Sony.
The device is rumoured to be equipped with a Bravia display, Walkman music player and Exmore R sensor for the camera.

Sony’s tweet makes those leaks much more likely to be genuine, with it highlighting the hashtag #bestofsony.
Rumours have suggested the phone will come with a 20 megapixel camera and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor.
The Xperia range’s standard features including waterproofing and slim design are also highly likely to feature in the phone.
