Xperia Z Ultra users complain of display flaws

Xperia Z Ultra users complain of display flaws
Some Sony Xperia Z Ultra owners have reported that the flagship phablet isn't working quite as expected, with display issues such as image corruption and failing to turn on at all.
Launched as a bigger brother to the Xperia Z, the Xperia Z Ultra has a mammoth 6.4in, Full HD 1,920 x 1,080 display, a 2.2GHz quad-core processor and is waterproof, letting device be safely submerged in up to a metre of fresh water without damage.
Unfortunately, the device appears to be suffering from some display flaws. A small number of users, spotted by Xperia Blog, are reporting issues with the ranging from it not working at all to strange green lines appearing at random.
The issues, which appear to be software rather than hardware related, manifest when the smartphone is switched on from standby. Although the display backlight turns on, the screen itself remains blank. Pressing the power button again switches the backlight off, and users have to either reboot the handset or simply keep turning it off and on again via the power button until it eventually responds.
Some users report an even stranger flaw: although the screen does come on, it is covered in vertical green lines obscuring the display. These persist until the phone is fully rebooted, the sufferers report.
Sony has not yet responded to the issue and indications are that the latest software update, 14.1.B.0.475, does not resolve the problem.
